Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. was a manufacturing company by the entrepreneur and philanthropist John Crean. The company was initially incorporated in 1950 as Coach Specialties Company. It grew to become one of the most successful businesses of it's generation. Mr. Crean eventually moved the company to Riverside, CA where it was the largest private employer in Riverside County for decades. The company joined the Fortune 500 in 1973. At it's peak, Fleetwood employed more than 20,000 people with more than $3.7B in annual revenue, and at one point had hundreds of operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Fleetwood was at one point the largest manufacturer of Recreational Vehicles, Motor Homes, Travel Trailers, and Manufactured Housing in the World. The company also had supply subsidiary businesses in import, export, lumber manufacturing, fiberglass reinforced plastics manufacturing, retail, and credit.
