FLUTe - Flexible Liner Underground Technologies
FLUTe - Flexible Liner Underground Technologies was established 1996 by founder and principal scientist Carl Keller. Since then, FLUTe has been involved with thousands of environmental site assessments and remedial design investigation world wide, including all 50 US States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. The innovative liner technology works by pressurizing sleeves of flexible nylon fabric with water, which seals them to the inside of soil and bedrock boreholes. Through this pressurization process, FLUTe can quickly accomplish the following: -Seal Open Boreholes From Cross Contamination -Map NAPL Free Product (NAPL FLUTe) and Dissolved Phase Contaminants (FACT - FLUTe Activated Carbon Technique) with 6" to 3' Resolution in Sealed Boreholes -Measure Transmissivity Profiles with 6" to 12" Resolution and Vertical Head Distribution Profiles -Design and Install Discrete Multi-Level Groundwater Sampling Systems (Water FLUTe & Shallow Water FLUTe) The methods are often used in combination with or in place of downhole geophysics and as an alternative to traditional packer testing and grouted groundwater sampling systems. These methods are valuable in many different geologic settings, even in complex karst and artesian conditions.
