Marshall Economic Development Corporation
Marshall EDC is a non-profit, economic development corporation that works to build relationships with new and existing business in the East Texas region. The mission of the Marshall EDC is to improve the economy, as well as the standard of living in Marshall, Texas, by bringing in business and capital investment to stimulate the economic growth of the region. Marshall EDC partners with government agencies, regional businesses, existing local businesses, and educational institutions in Marshall to provide development within the community and to invest in the future of Marshall. Marshall EDC is a Type A 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization thats main focus is to create and maintain jobs, as per the Development Act of 1979. Marshall EDC was established by Resolution of the City Commission of Marshall on April 25, 1991 to act as an instrument of the City of Marshall in the promotion and assisting of industrial and manufacturing businesses to relocate or expand in Marshall, Texas and Harrison County. Marshall EDC partners with many different businesses and organizations with the goal being to eliminate unemployment and underemployment in Marshall through the creation and retention of primary jobs.
